History and Organizational Structure

Agostini Insurance Brokers (St Lucia) Limited is one of the longest standing private sector firm of Insurance Brokers in St Lucia. It is a registered St Lucian company incorporated in 1992.It is a joint venture company between the locally owned J E Bergasse & Company Limited, the principal shareholder, and Agostini Insurance Brokers of Trinidad and Tobago. With 7 dedicated staff members, all of whom are residing nationals of Saint Lucia, our mission is to align our resources directly with our client’s needs and this is achieved through our expertise, both in the local, regional and international insurance markets. Our commitment is to provide a consistent quality service built around a team of enthusiastic experienced professionals.

Seven employees currently man the St Lucia operation. With our permanent staff of 117, inclusive of Directors, we provide expertise in all areas of General Insurance and Group Employee Benefit Insurances. ARMSTRONG Philogene LEON, ACII,MCMI – Manager of General Insurance Division

Mr. Leon holds an Associateship (ACII) from the Chartered Insurance Institute of London and is a Chartered Insurance Broker. He holds an International Diploma in Management Studies from Cambridge University with distinction. He is a member of the Chartered Management Institute of London, Faculty of Insurance Broking, and the Faculty of Claims. His career in the insurance industry spans over sixteen years. He has considerable experience in handling all classes of general insurance and the placement of risk in the international market place. His expertise concentrates in the areas of Property, Motor, Liability, Accident and Claims Management. He specializes in the management of major private sector and multinational accounts, and is also heavily involved in the development of new business.

HOLLIS D D BRISTOL – Chairman

Mr. Bristol’s career in the Insurance Industry spans a 47-year period, commencing with Royal Guardian of London. He has had extensive working experience in the areas of motor, property and liability insurance and claims management.

ANTHONY CHARLES FCII – Corporate Manager

Mr. Charles joined Agostini on September 21st 1999. Prior to joining Agostini Insurance Brokers, Mr. Charles was employed in the capacity of Senior Account Executive, and as the Technical Assistant to the Executive Director of Marketing/Broking of a major brokerage firm. Mr. Charles has worked in the insurance industry for 21 years and is versed in all classes of insurance business viz. Property, Pecuniary, Energy, Marine, Aviation, Transport, Liability, Personal Accident, Ordinary Long Term.

During his 21 years tenure in the insurance industry Mr. Charles has attained the Scholarship Training Programme Certificate; Trinidad & Tobago Insurance Institute Diploma in Insurance; Associateship (ACII) and Fellowship (FCII) status of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) of England. Mr. Charles thesis “Trade Liberalisation and its impact on the Insurance Industry in Trinidad and Tobago” has enabled him to become the youngest and only broker in the industry with the Fellowship status.
Mr. Charles is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner, lectures at the Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Institute and is a member of the Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Institute Council.

SASHA AUGUSTIN - Account Assistant/Secretary

Ms. Agustin is presently an account assistant/ technician to a number of accounts. Ms. Augustin will provides valuable assistance to the Account Executives. She is the holder of a Associate degree in Office Administration from the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College.

CATHY ELIAS BONNETT - (Accounting Officer)

Ms. Bonnett is the accounting officer. Her responsibilities include all issues to financial and
assisting the company secretary in corporate secretarial activities. Ms.Bonnett possesses
experience in auditing, accounting and treasury management and budgeting. She is the
holder of the ACCA qualification the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants
(UK).

TAMARA PHILLIP - Account Executive

Ms. Phillip is presently an account executive / technician to a number of accounts. She is the holder of an undergraduate degree in Management from the University of the West Indies with minors in Marketing, Human Resource and Accounting. She has vast experience in handling major complex accounts.

SISERA BRATHWAITE, F.L.M.I. - (Employee Benefits Division Manager)

Ms. Brathwaite is the holder of the F.L.M.I. accreditation and is the first female in St Lucia to attain this designation. She shares over sixteen years of working experience in insurance and is currently the leader of our Employee Benefits Team. She has been responsible for the design and implementation of technically advanced Employee Benefit programmes, particularly for our clients in the Tourism and Banking and Financial Services Sector.

AMARYLIS SERIEUX, FLMI - (Account Executive)

Amarylis Serieux is attached to the Employee Benefits Department. She has been involved in the Life Insurance Industry for over 16 years and has amassed considerable experience in various aspects of the business industry, including Life, Health and Pension with a leading underwriter. She possesses a holds a fellowship with the Life Management Institute.

ALBERTA ANDREW - Secretary

Ms. Andrew is attached to the Employee Benefits Department. She has been working in this department for the last 15 years. She serves as an account assistant to a number of accounts. She provides valuable assistance to the Account Executive in the management of key accounts. She is has extensive experience in the handling of administrative issues for group health and life plans.
